New principal appointed at Telford College of Arts and Technology
A new principal has been appointed at the helm of Telford College of Arts and Technology.
New boss Stephen Davis will be in charge of both TCAT, in Haybridge Road, and New College, in King Street, both in Wellington. The college management teams are due to merge by this summer.
Staff were told of the appointment in a message from college corporation chairman Paul Hinkins.
HeMr Hinkins said: "I am delighted to announce the appointment of Stephen Davis, who will be joining TCAT as principal and chief executive. Stephen joins us from the City of Islington College and brings with him a vast experience."
covering curriculum, finance and stakeholder engagement, and looks forward to working with the senior leadership team of both TCAT and NCT.
Mr Davis said: "I am very pleased that the board have chosen me to lead both New College Telford and TCAT into what I know will be an exciting and positive time for what is soon to be our newly-merged college.
"There is no doubt that the best of both colleges together will only benefit our students and our communities.
"I look forward to meeting and working with you all to deliver the best possible outcomes for our learners."
Former TCAT principal Chris Scott, 53, stepped down last year after 20 years' service at the college.
He had been the principal for two years and said his decision had been prompted by the "massive changes" in the further education.
Ofsted gave Telford College of Arts and Technology an inadequate rating in June and demanded improvements.
