The 13-year-old's design C-Ellie-Brate duck was among 10 chosen for the project that has seen £30,000 generated for Severn Hospice and the Jayne Sargent Foundation.

The full -size version was snapped up by staff at Telford business Pensionlite for £1,150 at a charity auction earlier this month. But the company also successfully bid for the 32cm high duckling for the person who designed it.

And yesterday bosses presented the baby artwork to the Abraham Darby Academy pupil.

Pensionlite marketing manager James Tomlinson says: "We recently won an auction for one of the Telford ducks which was in aid of Severn Hospice and Jayne Sargent Foundation. At the same time we also bid and won for one of the miniature replicas which we gifted to Ellie who was the original designer."

Ellie, her mom, representatives from both charities as well as her teacher attended a special presentation at Pensionlite based in Stafford Court, Stafford Park.

"I like doing art and lots of colours so that is where the design came from," Ellie says.

Her idea for C-Ellie-Brate was brought to life by artist Traci Moss who was among the participating artists who subsequently donated a miniature in support of the mammoth charity effort.

C-Ellie-Brate now has pride of place in Pensionlite's office after the staff to a shine to it while it was on display on the duck trail.

The colourful collection was designed by pupils, community groups and artists who took part in a competition which attracted more than 700 entrants.

Then the best 10 designs were chosen to create the exhibition that has raised £30,000.

They were originally on show in Ironbridge and then Southwater before being auctioned along with eight miniatures and other items.

The other exhibits were Dr Duck, Natural Bee-uty, Lady Victoria, Once Upon a Fairytale, Coalbrookdrake, Mawster Peaquack, Dr Darby, Paddington Duck and Peace Duck.
