Lower Heath Church of England Primary School and Nursery is set to join the Marches Academy Trust from April, and the school's head said she is delighted at the opportunities it will bring.

Deb Sadler said: "I am absolutely delighted at the prospect of joining the Marches Academy Trust as it will afford the students and staff at Lower Heath School many more exciting opportunities.

"The students are always at the centre of everything that we do and this ethos is shared by the Marches Academy Trust.

"We can build on their successes and share knowledge to provide excellent learning opportunities and experiences for our students."

The move will mean staff at Lower Heath can collaborate with the other schools in the trust, which from the beginning of December includes Market Drayton's Grove School.

Confident

Pupils will also be able to join in with the trust's trips, sporting fixtures and other events.

Sarah Longville, CEO of the Marches Academy Trust, said: “The trustees have worked with the governors and headteacher of Lower Heath to ensure that everyone is confident about the collaboration going forward.

"We believe by working together our schools are ensuring that we are developing as a strong multi-academy trust based on 'achievement through caring'.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the trust to grow in strength with a school that has so many positive attributes and, through the trust, Lower Heath will continue to grow and shine."

There will be an open meeting at the school from 6.15pm on January 16, where parents can attend and ask questions about the school joining the Marches Academy Trust.
