Rawzone basketball club, which trains in Priorslee, Telford, has been hosting sessions for primary school children to encourage them to get involved in the sport. It is now looking to forge links with secondary schools.

The club wants to encourage young people to take an interest in the sport and to form teams which will be able to take part in inter-school league competitions.

Lester Green, also known as Coach LG, says basketball can help increase fitness and confidence.

He said: “Whilst we have in place a number of basketball developments to help within primary schools, we are also in discussion with secondary schools to ensure our minis are able to enjoy the sport throughout their education.

“Furthermore we are privileged to have the input from ex-national basketballers to help with our development programs.

“With the continued support from the local community and parents we will continue to grow in supporting and spreading the fun of basketball.”

The club also invites youngsters of all ages and abilities to its basketball sessions at Holy Trinity Academy, Teece Drive, Priorslee, on Mondays, from 6pm to 7pm. For more information visit rawzonebasketballclub.co.uk
