Both schools are now part of the Communities Academies Trust, which has a strong track record for ensuring schools within its group provide the highest quality education, including providing the support necessary for schools to become rated outstanding by Ofsted.

Ofsted has already commented that "the clear and strategic vision of the executive head of school and the Communities Academies Trust, supported by an able team of deputy headteachers, is having an impact on standards".

The new Telford Park School and recently-built Telford Langley School both boast state-of-the-art facilities for sport, the arts, science, technology and ICT. Lee Taylor, head of school at Park said: "The pupils have been in awe of the fantastic new facilities and are really making the most of the opportunities that are available."

The new leadership at the schools have embraced the motto 'Ensuring Excellence' and this has certainly been evident so far this year. Steve Carter, executive head, commented: "The pupils have responded superbly to the increased expectations, our new dress code and the earlier start to the school day."

'Ensuring Excellence' will be the theme in all aspects of school life. Excellent standards of academic achievement, along with a strong focus on outstanding behaviour will be the norm. There will also be opportunities for students outside the planned curriculum, as an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities at both schools is on offer every week. Mr Carter went on to say: "The wide range of clubs and societies on offer present a vital role in ensuring that individuals develop their own talents and interests, instilling in them a sense of pride in who they are and what they can achieve."

Both schools also have a reputation for strong pastoral care systems; providing guidance and support for all students. The house system builds on this to foster excellent working relationships and create a happy and well-disciplined atmosphere.

All students have a 25-minute personal tutor session every day in a mixed age tutor group.
