Young cadets in Shifnal receive certificates
Primary school children have received certificates after taking part in a Young Cadet Scheme.
Youngsters from Shifnal Primary School received their certificates of accomplishment on Wednesday in a special ceremony attended by officers from West Mercia Police and the Police and Crime Commissioner's ambassador Graham Oliver in front of parents and teachers.
There to present each pupil with the award was the local policing team who delivered the cadet's lessons.
Youth Engagement officer, PC Scott Smither said: "The aim of the scheme is to enforce relationships between young people and the police, to give them an idea of the challenges we face in protecting the communities that they live in.
"Each session has been focused on a different aspect of policing, from road safety to public order.
"The sessions have been delivered in a fun way but at the same time important messages have been delivered to the children taking part. I think it has been a great success."
Leading flexible plan agreed with the school, officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team have held regular sessions.
Some of the topics covered were communication, road safety, forensics, anti-social behaviour, basics of a police constable's role, radio use and keeping property safe.
