The family of a 25-year-old man from Shropshire who died in a crash involving an ambulance and a car have paid a loving tribute to him.

Keiran Moore-Hughes, of Westbury Road, Heath Farm in Shrewsbury, died on Thursday after the accident on the A49 at Preston Brockhurst, near Wem.

The former Grange School pupil, who had one sister and three brothers, worked as a manager at Morrisons in Shrewsbury before going on to work as a press operator at the town's Salop Design & Engineering.

His sister Catherine today expressed her thanks for all the messages of condolences received by the family.

"We are so taken aback by how adored our Kiery was by so many people. Of course, we love him dearly and he touched our hearts so very, very much but it's so nice to see how many other people's hearts he had also touched," she said.

"He was a true gent, extremely soft-hearted, daft as a brush, so very caring and loving and really would do anything for anyone. Kiery will be truly missed by us all and it's extremely hard to believe and take in he is actually gone from us.

"We are hoping that in time, somehow, we will get our hearts around this complete and utter tragedy in our lives."

His mother Julie said her son had been considering returning to education and had many interests, including looking after his beloved car.

"Kieran had many hobbies but his main ones were fishing, watching and collecting films with his stepfather Frank who he considered to be a second father," she said.
