Her red walking frame was found near recycling bins in Frankwell car park yesterday afternoon.

Police say they are concerned for her safety and today appealed for information about possible sightings.

Inspector Tom Harding said: "We are asking people to contact Shrewsbury police station on 101 if they spotted her in the Frankwell area over the past few days.

"We also believe her red walking frame may have been moved by a member of the public to where it was located by the recycling bins. It's possible the frame was originally nearer the river."

Ms Wolverson is described as 5ft 1in tall, with short straight grey hair. She often wears a hat, has bandages on both legs and may have been wearing a camel coloured coat.

Inspector Helen Thomas said the police helicopter had assisted in the search last night.

A police officer was today patrolling the Frankwell footbridge asking members of the public if they had seen anyone matching Ms Wolverson's description.
