Thick fog causes Shropshire accidents
Two cars collided on a main road in Shropshire today as thick fog and rain caused problems for rush hour motorists.
The accident happened on the A5 outside the Queen's Head Hotel, near Oswestry just after 6.30am.
Nobody was injured in the crash which happened as a fog covered much of Shropshire and Mid Wales. The road was cleared by 7.30am.
The country is currently under a yellow weather warning of fog which could remain thick in places in the region until early afternoon.
In separate crashes yesterday, the A518 Newport Road was blocked for more than an hour at Gnosall after a car overturned at about 6.30pm.
The driver escaped without injury and traffic was moving again by 7.45pm.
A 4x4 driver escaped without injury after the car overturned on the A4117 close to Mawley, near Cleobury Mortimer, just after 7pm.
