Supermarket driver attacked by robber in Telford street
A driver delivering shopping in Telford was pushed to the floor by a teenager who tried to steal some of her goods, police said today.
The 33-year-old, who works for a major supermarket, parked her van to deliver items and then made her way round to the back of it.
She opened the doors to remove the shopping and was then approached by the man,who asked her whether what she had for him was 'free'.
She laughed and told him nothing was free, but the man then pushed her onto the floor in the van.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "The man immediately started to look through the shopping bags but the victim screamed for help and the man ran off at speed without stealing anything from the shopping bags.
"Although the victim has been left very shaken by this incident she has been able to give us a description of the man that tried to rob her and has helped us put together an e-fit of this man."
It happened in Catterick Close, Leegomery, at around 4.30pm on Friday.
The robber was white, aged between 17 and 18, between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 9ins tall, with a medium build and as being 'baby faced'.
He was described as wearing a red hooded top with white drawstrings on it and a baseball cap with the letters 'NY' on the front in white.
West Mercia Police, who today released the e-fit, want witnesses to call them on 101 or 0300 333 3000, quoting incident number 484SN 030513.
