A49 traffic delays after car flips upside down
Motorists faced rush hour delays after a car ended upside down in a hedge on the Shropshire border.
The crash happened on the A49 in Cholmondeley, near Whitchurch at about 8.45am yesterday.
The female driver of a red BMW escaped major injury, but was sent to Leighton Hospital in Crewe to be assessed.
Police said no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The road was blocked for about an hour.
Firefighters from Whitchurch were also called to the scene and assisted colleagues from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to free the trapped driver. They removed the side of the vehicle using specialist cutting equipment.
Meanwhile, the A41 in Prees Heath, near Whitchurch was partially blocked for a short time because of a broken down lorry on a roundabout at about 9am yesterday.
