The female driver of a Peugeot 206 was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital following the accident in Tilstock Road, near Whitchurch, but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

No other vehicles were involved.

Police say the road was blocked for a short time after the crash at about 10.30am yesterday while some oil was cleared away.

Meanwhile, drivers faced long delays after a two-car crash on the A49 in south Shropshire. Two Suzuki cars – one silver and one red – were involved in an accident in Craven Arms, near to the Market Street junction, shortly before 4pm yesterday.

There were long delays in both directions due to debris on the road.

No-one was injured, a spokesman for West Mercia Police said.

The road was fully clear by 5.45pm.
