One of the men, who was 26, suffered minor injuries, including cuts and bruises to his face and was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

The other man, who was 21, was thrown from the bike and landed a distance away from the accident.

He complained of neck pain and injuries to his right hand side and was taken to University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke.

John Hawker, a spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We received the call at 9.13pm last night.

"We sent a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances to the scene.

"There were two men riding the quad bike and one man, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the bike and landed some distance from the scene of the crash. He suffered cuts and bruises but was not knocked out."
