The crash happened on the A41 at Grindley Brook, near Whitchurch, at about 8.30am yesterday.

The woman was trapped in the black Honda Jazz after the crash and firefighters had to remove the door to free her.

She was out of the vehicle and walking around when police arrived but was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital by ambulance.

Her injuries are not thought to be serious.

Chris Wood, spokesman for Cheshire Police, said: "We were called at 8.40am.

"One vehicle was involved in the crash, a black Honda Jazz. The car had left the road and overturned but the lady driving was out of the vehicle and walking around."

Fire crews from Cheshire, Whitchurch, Prees and Wellington also attended the scene and spent about an hour dealing with the incident.

The road was not closed but the incident caused delays to motorists travelling through the area.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "We got the call at 8.55am to the A41 Tushingham cum Grindley Brook at Malpas. One car was involved, the female occupant was released when firefighters removed the door."
