Two crews from Shrewsbury were on the scene and used breathing apparatus and a dry powder extinguisher to put out the blaze which took about half an hour.

Meanwhile, firefighters have issued a call to make sure chimneys are swept out at least once a year after a fire broke out in Cressage, near Much Wenlock at about 7.50am.

The blaze involved a wood burning stove and firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to access the top of the chimney.

The fire had been put out shortly after 9am.
