Man killed in van crash near Shrewsbury

Police are appealing for witnesses to a three-car crash after the death of a 32-year-old man.

The crash happened at Acton Bank, near to Hardwick Garage on the A49 near Hadnall at about 3.20pm yesterday.

The driver of a black Ford Ka, a 32-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say his next of kin have been informed.

The car was in collision with a Vauxhall Movano van and police said the crash also involved a second Vauxhall Movano van.

The driver of the first van, a 40-year-old man suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The driver of the second van, a 63-year-old man and his passenger a 60-year-old woman, both suffered minor chest and back injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

Both were taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital to be checked over.

Police are now trying to establish what happened and have asked anyone who witnessed the incident or vehicles leading up to it to get in touch.
