The blaze at the farm in Stottesdon, near Bridgnorth, quickly escalated after the fuel stored in a 2,500 litre tank ignited. But firefighters were able to stop the flames spreading to nearby buildings, including a barn stacked full with straw bales.
The fire, which broke out at about 5.30pm, was under control within 15 minutes, although firefighters remain at the scene damping down.
Andrew Davies, watch manager for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, said that the fire could be seen from Cleobury Mortimer five miles away.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
