Shrewsbury woman, 90, rescued by firefighters after falling behind door

Firefighters today came to the aid of a 90-year-old Shrewsbury woman who had fallen behind a door at her home.

The woman fell at about 11.45am at the house in Washford Road, Meole Brace.

One fire crew was called to help the woman, who had fallen in her bedroom.

They used electric saws, cutters and small gear to gain entrance to the room.

She was looked after by paramedics and fire crews left shortly after midday.
