Mother's appeal for return of stolen toys left in Land Rover stolen at Newport Show
A mother is appealing for information after a family's car was stolen at a major event – with her daughter's favourite toys inside.
The Land Rover Defender was worth around £20,000, but Jane Goodhead said that all she wants is her three-year-old's toys back.
The family parked in the public car park at Newport Show on Saturday morning, and when they returned at 3.30pm the Land Rover had gone.
Miss Goodhead, from Oswestry, said her daughter, Poppy, had all of her favourite toys in the car. She said: "Her car seat was taken which is heavily coloured in bright flowers, a monkey that she had from the zoo when she was three months old, a little pink handbag and her favourite Pepper Pig CD, which she listened to from a visit to Theatre Severn. There are such horrible people about.
"If they'd thrown her things out on the grass we could have got them.
"If we'd been parked in the middle of Telford it would be less shocking.
"The showground has no CCTV so there's nothing they can do, they're asking the car park marshals if they saw anything. We just want the stuff back, it's the sentimental loss."
Miss Goodhead said she had a conversation with someone which she found suspicious, who was parked at the front of the car park.
She said: "It was a pale blue old Rover saloon car.
"Two men were sat in the back and the driver got out of his seat."
The Land Rover's registration is SL07UBA.
