[gallery] A lorry has crashed into a house on the A41 in Shropshire, closing the road for two days.
Police are searching for a second lorry believed to have been involved which failed to stop.
The crash happened in Shakeford at about 11pm on Tuesday night.
The A41 is currently closed between Hinstock and Tern Hill and will stay closed for two days.
Emergency crews were today working to shore up the building and make it safe.
The lorry driver, in his 50s, escaped with leg injuries and was taken to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital following the crash. Police say a second lorry is believe to have been involved in a collision and the driver of that vehicle failed to stop.
The road between could be closed all day while experts remove the heavy goods vehicle and ensure the house is safe.
It is expected that part of the building will have to be demolished.
Fire crews from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Wellington responded to a 999 call.
Incident Commander, Mark Weaver, said the first firefighters to arrive ensured that the lorry driver was out of his vehicle before checking to see if anyone was in the house.
"The crews made an initial assessment, using thermal imaging cameras to ensure that no-one was in the house," he said.
"They deemed that it was empty, which was confirmed when the house owners arrived in the night, having been told about the crash."
He said that the young couple had been doing up the house, working on it at weekends.
"It looked like they had been working hard on the house. They seemed devastated by what had happened," Mr Weaver said.
The incident commander said that a special regional fire team was called in to help Shropshire crews.
"The urban search and rescue team from Hereford and Worcester was called out to ensure that the building was safe.
"They were still on scene on Wednesday morning. I believe that one of the gable ends will have to come down, I think it will affect about a quarter of the house."
