Teenager arrested as man left in critical condition after being hit by car in Cleobury Mortimer

A 19-year-old teenager has been arrested after a man pedestrian was left in a critical condition after being hit by a car.

The man 19-year-old, from Cleobury Mortimer was arrested after a car allegedly hit three men and failed to stop at 2.20am in the early hours of Sunday in the town. He has been bailed while investigations continue.

The collision happened at Curdale Close off the A4117. One of those struck by the car, a 37-year-old man, went into cardiac arrest and had to be rushed to hospital in a critical condition, while the other two escaped with minor injuries.

The road remained closed while police scoured the scene until 11am.
