Four fire engines were sent to the scene in Ludlow Road, Cleobury Mortimer at about 10.15am to free the man who was trapped in his Lexus for about 45 minutes.

Jamie Arrowsmith, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "We were called to reports of a car that had left the road and ended up in a field.

"We had two calls, one from West Mercia Police and one from a member of the public. The member of the public said the car had rolled as well.

"We had an ambulance on scene and a paramedic area support officer.

"The patient was conscious and breathing, when the police called the patient was still in the car.

"The man suffered a reduced level of consciousness but was fully conscious by the time he was taken to Worcester Royal Hospital."

Terri-Ann Powell, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said the Lexus ended up in a field near Curdale Farm.

The four fire appliances were sent from Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Wellington.
