Fire crews from Telford Central were sent to the property in Park Lane just after 5.30am.
The small fire was caused by an electrical fault in a freezer, which spread to a nearby fridge.
There were a small number of camping gas cylinders in the garage but they were not affected by the fire.
Station Watch Manager Chris White said: "There's no concerns about the cause of fire, we've carried out an investigation and the cause of fire is due to a fault in a freezer, which spread up and ignited the fridge.
"The gas cannisters weren't directly involved.
"It was a slow burning smouldering fire, there was quite significant smoke and heat damage but no structural damage."
