Eight skip and bin fires overnight in Telford
Firefighters were called to deal with eight incidents of fires in bins or skips across Telford in a matter of hours overnight.
Crews were called to six incidents in Wellington between 8.56pm on Sunday and 1.09am this morning.
The fires involved wheelie bins and contents being set on fire in Victoria Road, Charlton Street, Chapel Lane and two wheelie bins going up in flames on Kings Haye Road.
Commercial skips were also ablaze on New Hall Road and High Street.
Meanwhile, crews also had to deal with a rubbish bin fire in Alma Avenue in Malinslee at about 11pm last night.
The Shropshire Star is awaiting a response from West Mercia Police as to whether the incidents are linked and being treated as suspicious.
It comes after crews were called out five times overnight last Tuesday to deal with bin fires in the Wellington and Donnington areas.
Three teenagers were arrested in connection with these fires.
