Fire crews called to chemical leak at Whitchurch hotel resort
Emergency services were called to a Whitchurch hotel resort today following reports of a chemical leak involving a swimming pool.
It happened at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa, on Terrick Road, at about 12.30pm.
Three patients were checked over by paramedics but they refused hospital treatment.
It is believed they were involved in mixing chemicals in the pool when they reported a "funny" smell.
Murray MacGregor, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said: "A 25-year-old male who had inhaled some gas was checked over but chose not to go to hospital.
"A 38-year-old woman and 36-year-old man also didn't want to go to hospital. They were mixing chemicals into pool when there was a release of fumes."
Five fire crews including the environmental protection unit and the incident support unit were called to the scene from Prees, Tweedale and Whitchurch.
