Two girls seen being put into car in Wellington had been on night out and were picked up by parents
Two girls, reportedly seen forced into a car, were being taken home after a having 'too much to drink' on a night out - according to police.
West Mercia Police say they have identified the two girls and that they were not at risk.
After issuing an appeal for information and receiving several calls from the public, officers say the two girls were being taken home by parents.
The car was initially described as a Mercedes but it later transpired it was an Audi.
Detective Sergeant Craig Smith said: "We'd like to thank everyone who responded to our appeal for information, this was a very concerning set of circumstances and we were very keen to ensure the safety of the two girls.
"One of the calls received was from the parent of one of the girls who confirmed that she and her husband were in the car.
"They had gone out to pick up their daughter from Glebe Street after receiving a call from the other girl to say their daughter had had too much to drink and needed to be taken home.
"We have been out to speak to the parents and both the girls and we are satisfied with their accounts and that they were not hurt or in danger in any way.
"We believe the initial report was made in good faith and would like to thank the caller for their concern."
