Pensioners still in critical condition a week after Telford crash
Two pensioners remain in a critical condition in hospital a week after a serious crash in Telford.
An 89-year-old man and a 83-year-old woman suffered serious head injuries in the crash in Dawley at 9.50am on Thursday, November 3.
A red Ford Fiesta was travelling along Springfield Road and collided with a blue Nissan Almera which was turning out of Station Road into Springfield Road.
The pensioners, who were trapped in the Fiesta, were cut free by emergency services. The man was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital and the woman was taken to Princess Royal Hospital.
They remain in hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the other car was injured but was released from hospital after treatment.
Police investigating the crash want to hear from anyone who was in the area and saw the crash or saw either of the vehicles and the manner they were being driven before the crash.
They would particularly like to hear from the driver of a white lorry which was at the junction at the time of the collision and might have important information.
Anyone with any information should call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident 152S of November 3.
