Woman rescued from stream near Shrewsbury taken to hospital

A woman has had to be rescued from a stream between Shrewsbury and Much Wenlock.

The woman has been taken to hospital, following the rescue operation at Cound in the early hours of this morning.

It happened just after 2am and the water rescue team from Much Wenlock station was sent to the scene, along with three fire engines from both Much Wenlock and Shrewsbury.

Swift water rescue technicians were eventually able to rescue the woman using a short extension ladder.
