Shropshire man, 36, taken to hospital after 'altercation'

A 36-year-old Shropshire man needed hospital treatment following an altercation between a group of men.

The man, from Gobowen, near Oswestry, was taken to hospital as a precaution following the incident in Chester.

Police say officers responded to reports of an altercation in Eastgate Street at about 3.41am yesterday.

Daniel Hind, spokesman for Cheshire Police, said: "Officers attended the incident and conducted a search of the local area to trace the individuals involved.

"No arrests were made and one person, a 36-year-old man from Shropshire, was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital as a precautionary measure."
