Newtown road blocked after lorry gets stuck under bridge

A main road through Mid Wales was closed for nearly two hours after a lorry got wedged under a railway bridge.

Dolfor Road, in Newtown, was closed after the lorry got stuck under the bridge at about 1.35pm today.

Anna James, a spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police, said: "Dyfed-Powys Police attended Dolfor Bridge, Newtown, at around 1.35pm this afternoon, following reports of a lorry stuck under the bridge.

"The road was closed while the lorry was recovered, and reopened at around 3pm.

"No injuries were reported."
