Pylons and cables are part of power line plan
National Grid has revealed it expects to use both overhead pylons and underground cables to carry power from windfarms through Shropshire and Mid Wales to the main electricity network.
Officials at the firm unveiled the plan in their spring 2013 newsletter, which is being distributed to households in communities affected by the controversial plans.
Campaigners are angry at plans to run pylons through Shropshire and Mid Wales countryside, claiming it would spoil it.
National Grid wants to build a 400,000 volt electricity line.
It plans to construct an electricity substation at Cefn Coch west of Welshpool, from where overhead lines and, possibly some underground cables, will travel via Llansanttfraid, south of Llanymynech and Oswestry to Lower Frankton to join the main network.
