£230,000 funding boost for walking and cycling in Telford
Telford and Wrekin has attracted a cash boost of almost £230,000 to improve walking and cycling spaces in the borough.
The council has been awarded £229,500 towards schemes including low traffic neighbourhoods and segregated cycle lanes from the Government's £2 billion Active Travel Fund.
Local authorities will need to consult local communities about how they plan to spend the money, must consider the impact on other road users and will have to meet tough new conditions designed to ensure that the schemes will be effective.
