Wintry photos show the aftermath of Shropshire's cold snap

The snow may have largely gone from Shropshire but temperatures remained cold enough for these gulls to take a breather on a frozen pool.

Andrew Rudge of Telford was able to photograph both of these wintry scenes on Saturday amid a cold snap that saw much of Shropshire blanketed with snow in the days before.

The birds are waiting on the frozen Horsehay Pool. Andrew's other image is of the Shropshire hills as seen from Dawley.

Also watch drone footage kindly sent to us by Aaliyah Pollock showing a stunning sunset over the snowy Wrekin, one of Shropshire’s most famous landmarks.

Aaliyah, 18, a geographic technician, originally from Telford but now living in Berkshire, says: “I wanted to capture a video representing the beauty of Shropshire. I found the perfect location!”
