The popular much loved Curlew Country which works in partnership with landowners in the Shropshire Hills and Welsh borders has its live stream cam is up and running.

The conservation project was set up five years ago and this year the camera is being sponsored by the newly formed Curlew Recovery Partnership (CRP) which aims to raise awareness of the plight of the under threat birds.

The hidden camera gives incredible glimpses into nesting habits of the secretive creatures.

Curlew chicks are among the most vulnerable due to nesting on the ground which makes them victims of predators, accidental agricultural activity too close to the nest and disturbance.

In order to boost numbers efforts are in hand to see pairs rear more chicks fledge to keep the captivating calls of these birds floating over our farm and moorland in years to come. Curlew Country works in a regional stronghold for breeding Curlew and sees an estimated 40 pairs returning to attempt to breed here year after year.
