The heathland butterfly has grown in number at the Kinver Edge conservation site in South Staffordshire, near the border with Shropshire.

It comes after habitat restoration work at the National Trust site, has helped to strengthen populations of the Small Heath butterflies, characterised by their small, light orange wings and single eyespot.

The area of heathland at Kinver Edge was restored back in 2014 and is rapidly becoming a hotspot for butterflies, bees and many invertebrates, thanks to its warm, dry soils.
