Oswestry puts on a good show in the sunshine for visit of Britain in Bloom judges
The mayor of Oswestry is keeping her fingers crossed that Britain in Bloom judges will have been impressed by what they saw during a visit.
Even the sun did its thing on Wednesday as the town pulled out all the stops to show the two judges the best that the Shropshire town could offer.
"The town looks amazing," said mayor Olly Rose. "We are keeping our fingers crossed for the announcement in early October but are hopeful of good news.
"Even if we don't win, the whole process has been great for the town."
Councillor Rose said the competition is much more than just flower beds and hanging baskets - although that remains a massive part of the competition.
