The current three-year Telford & Wrekin Council contract for dog collection and dog kennelling services is set to come to an end in March 2025. It is currently operated by Hillbrae Pets Hotel, in Cold Hatton.

But the council is keen to have an arrangement in place for the following three years and has put it out to tender. It has been made available for small businesses and the charitable and voluntary sector to apply for.

“A spokesperson for Telford & Wrekin Council said: “As a local authority, we have a statutory responsibility to provide a service to collect stray dogs.

“We have offered the contract in three-yearly cycles and the current contract expires at the end of March 2025.

“Telford & Wrekin Council is following the usual method of retendering for the service.”

Procurement documents show that the value of the contract has been put at between £10,000 and £60,000. Tenders have to be received by midday on Februrary 28, 2025 and the new contract will start on April 1, 2025.

The contract is available to view on the Contracts Finder website.
