First sale of the year
Mid Wales auctioneers Morris, Marshall & Poole conducted their first sale of entitlements for 2007.
On offer were entitlements ranging from annual payment values of £90 per entitlement to £266 (133-394 euros).
Once again the higher value entitlements proved to be in greatest demand with a better than expected top price of £630 being paid for an entitlement with an annual value of £266 (2.36x). Lower value entitlements proved difficult to move with the lowest being sold for 1.27 times its annual value.
Other prices achieved were:329.06 euros (£223) sold for £500 (2.24x); 265.97 euros (£180) sold for £360 (2.00x); 394.32 euros (£266) sold for £630 (2.36x); 265.97 euros (£180) sold for £310 (1.72x); 245.11 euros (£166) sold for £250 (1.50x); 187.16 euros (£126) sold for £160 (1.27x).
Entries are now being taken for two forthcoming sales on Friday, February 23, and Friday, March 16.
"Check your entitlement statements, if you have spare entitlements that you are not likely to use in the future, let Morris, Marshall & Poole realise your asset," says MMP's agricultural specialist Richard Evans.
Richard and his team can be contacted at MMP's Welshpool, Newtown and Llanidloes offices. Catalogues will be available prior to the auctions.
