Shropshire's biggest dairy announced its price will drop by 1.9 pence per litre (ppl) to 27.1ppl from November.

Only last month, the Market Drayton-based firm announced is price from October would drop by 1.8 ppl to 29ppl.

The firm says the latest reduction results from significantly lower returns from its sales of cream, butter and surplus milk which is not required to meet customer obligations.

Campaign group Farmers For Action has warned of impeding protests following the recent reduction in the prices farmers are paid for milk.
