The Four Seasons of Farming
For more than 175 years, the Cheshire show has been one of the top summertime agricultural events in the North West of England. In 2016 it reached an exciting milestone when the honour of ‘Royal’ status was bestowed on the show by the Cabinet Office so the 2016 event saw the inauguration of the newly titled, Royal Cheshire County Show.
With its roots firmly embedded in farming, the 2017 show on June 20 and 21 will, again hold the many competition classes for cattle, sheep, pigs and dairy goats, but will also include hundreds of classes for light and heavy horses, show jumping, rare breeds of livestock, poultry, pygmy goats, pigeons, cavies, rabbits and dog show.
This year the organisers are proud to introduce a brand new main ring attraction – The Four Seasons of Farming. This unique display we will take spectators on a journey through the farming calendar – introducing them to the leviathans of modern farming technology. Reflecting the different agricultural processes deployed throughout the year, the display will capture the imaginations of young and old with demonstrations of the fascinating processes involved in modern farming.
The Michelin starred and nation’s favourite French chef, Jean Christoph Novelli and Luis Troyano of Great British Bake Off fame will be joining the event this year in the Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre where they will be cooking up a storm!
A spectacular big wheel will dominate the skyline this year – taking riders on an evocative ride above the show ground and providing breath-taking views of the Tabley Showground and stunning Cheshire countryside.
The 2017 show will also feature The Agri Centre, Village Green, Countryside Live Area, Delamere Dairy Main Ring, and the Rural Life Area which includes, Cheshire WI, NAFAS Flower Marquee, Schools Out, NFU Publicity and many, many more
If you want to experience and celebrate all that is great and good about the countryside then The Royal Cheshire County Show is the place to be as it brings together the many interesting and fascinating aspects of farming and rural life in the beautiful and unique county of Cheshire.
