Shropshire businesses and individuals urged to sign up for British Farming Awards

Sponsored by Morrisons and run by Agriconnect, the annual event makes a welcome return as trust and confidence in British farmers from consumers continues to soar.

Alongside farming’s core sectors – dairy, beef, sheep, arable and contracting – there is also recognition in other valued groups such as family farms, students, new entrants, agri-tech and the huge number of farm diversifications, which are now so crucial to many businesses.

The awards also welcome nominations of businesses which have introduced positive changes whether that be embracing technology, streamlining production and efficiency, educating the public about food provenance or revamping their business models through diversification.

Awards include Agricultural Student of the Year, Agri-Tech Innovator of the Year and Arable Farmer of the Year,

Other categories are Beef Farmer of the Year, Dairy Farmer of the Year, Family Farming Business of the Year, Farm Worker of the Year, Grassland Farmer of the Year, Outstanding Contribution to British Agriculture, Sheep Farmer of the Year and Sustainable Farmer of the Year.
