A festive tractor run, which has raised thousands for charity since it started three years ago, is set to return again with organisers hoping to provide another welcome boost for good causes.

What has become an annual Christmas tractor run and has raised nearly £35,000 in total was started in Bridgnorth by  Josh Barratt and Tom Wellings in 2021.

The Bridgnorth Festive Charity Tractor Run raised close to £5,000 in its first year and  has built more funds in each of its three years, with up to £20,000 raised for charities Hope House and MacMillan Cancer Support in 2023.

Now Tom and Josh are ready to bring it back again to help raise more funds with the event taking place on December 22 and some 200 tractors involved.

Josh said: “We are proud of what we have achieved since starting the event and it seems to be growing bigger and bigger.

"Hopefully we will have another good turnout, farmers will bring out their tractors and we will get everything covered in Christmas! Everyone always seems to make a big effort.

"We will again have the tractors ready at Bridgnorth Livestock Market from 5pm and will stick to the same route, some 30 miles, as we have done in previous years."

"We support these two very important causes and I think everyone can relate to cancer in someway on  a personal level, through their own experience or that of a family member or friend, and that's why I think so many people get behind this evet and help us raise such fantastic amounts.

"So we are thrilled our popular event is back for another year. A lot has happened in the last year – from awards to interviews and much more – and all of the team really appreciate the support we have gained for what was such a small event to begin with."

The Bridgnorth Festive Charity Tractor Run 2024, which is being supported by more than 30 businesses, takes place on Sunday, December 22.

A convoy of festively illuminated tractors will make their way through Bridgnorth before taking in Quatt, Alveley, Shatterford, Kinver, Enville, Six Ashes and Stanmore in the dark, creating a magical festive scene for families to enjoy.

Josh added: “As always there will be hundreds of donation buckets along the route for spectators to donate as well.”
