Turkey sales reach up to £100 at Oswestry event
Oswestry livestock market hosted a dressed poultry sale two days before Christmas.
More than 200 dressed turkeys, geese and ducks were on sale with a good turnout.
In total, 196 birds sold and the top prices were £100 for a turkey from Dan Lewis and £55 for a goose from S Edwards.
There was also a top price of £51 for a duck from S Edwards.
A spokesperson for Oswestry livestock market said: "It was the first dressed poultry sale in a very long time to come to town and it was good to see so much support in numbers of birds and purchasers.
"Trade was on par with other sales in the area, and we're proud to have brought something new to Oswestry
"Thank you to all purchasers I hope you enjoy your Christmas dinner. Watch this space for next year's sale date."
