Special guest for county farming conference
The Director of Rural Affairs at Welsh Government will be the guest speaker at the NFU Cymru Brecon & Radnor County Conference.
Gian Marco Currado will attend the meeting, on Monday, February 3, which will be held at The International Pavillion, Royal Welsh Showground.
The meeting gets under way at 2.30pm and those in attendance will hear from Gian Marco about his role at Welsh Government as well as an update on the Sustainable Farming Scheme (SFS).
Before becoming Director of Rural Affairs in April 2022, Gian Marco was the Director responsible for Environment and Marine at Welsh Government.
Having been a civil servant for over 20 years, Gian Marco has held several EU-facing roles in UK Government, both in London and Brussels.
He was previously Counsellor in charge of the Social and Environment team at the UK Representation to the EU in Brussels, part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Department for Exiting the EU. In that post, he covered the period of the renegotiation, referendum and Brexit negotiations, with a particular focus on the future EU/UK economic partnership.
NFU Cymru Brecon & Radnor County Chairman Rob Powell said: “We are extremely grateful that Gian Marco Currado has accepted our invitation to speak at our upcoming County Conference, especially during such a busy time for Welsh Government. It promises to be an informative afternoon so please do come along and join us.”
