Managers of the Shropshire Community Health Trust have confirmed that patients at Whitchurch Community Hospital were forced to receive treatment and sleep in the cold after a boiler broke on December 18.

But they were keen to stress the problem has now been resolved.

Andrew Thomas, clinical services manager, said: "We are sorry if any patients were affected, and I would like to thank staff who worked hard to make sure patients got hot drinks and extra blankets during this time."
