Shrewsbury care home gets 'good' rating from inspectors
A Shrewsbury care home which looks after people with dementia has been praised by a health watchdog.
Bowbrook House has been given an overall rating of good by inspectors from the Care Quality Commission after a visit at the end of September.
The home, which can provide care for up to 30 people, was praised for its safety, the caring nature of the staff there and also the way it is run by the management team.
Inspectors from the CQC said they were particularly impressed with the safety of the care home, which was caring for 29 people at the time of the inspection.

The report from their visit highlights how staff knew what to do to report accidents, incidents, or issues relating to equipment used in the home.
It stated: "One staff member told us 'I recognised the piece of equipment we were about to use was faulty. We have a spare piece of equipment available in case this happens. I reported it and it was repaired.'
"We saw a staff member identify a fault with a door closure and report this to the registered manager to rectify."
The report also praised staff's skills and knowledge which allowed them to provide personal care to residents.
It said: "A relative told us, 'I can't speak highly enough of staff. They're all friendly including the cleaner and chef; they must have good training.'
"Staff members told us they were supported to develop their skills by completing an induction to their role and attendance at regular training sessions."
Inspectors also praised staff for their effort sin helping keep the residents healthy.
The report stated: "People had their privacy and dignity respected by those supporting them. People had access to healthcare when needed and staff responded to any changes in needs promptly and consistently. People were supported to eat and drink sufficient amounts to maintain good health."
Bowbrook House, previously an Edwardian gentleman's residence, was opened in 1998 and located on the outskirts of Shrewsbury, close to Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
