Details have been released of a march to be held in a bid to save hospital services in Telford.

The rally and march will go ahead April 23 and has been organised by Telford & Wrekin Council after the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust announced it would be looking to close the A&E department at the Princess Royal Hospital overnight due to staff shortages.

Campaigners are asked to meet outside TSB Bank, Walker Street, Wellington Town Centre for 2pm .

The march will then head through the town centre to Princess Royal Hospital, then to Charlton School for the rally finale.

Those wanting to take part are advised to use car parks at the leisure centre, in Tan Bank, and Wrekin Road.

Those unable to walk the whole distance can assemble at Charlton School and join campaigners for the last leg and finale. Parking will also be available there.

The event is expected to finish at about 3.30pm.

The council says it wants as many people as possible to attend and show the strength of feeling to protect the hospital's services.
