Heather Lort, from Ludlow, will come before the fitness to practise hearing on November 6 at the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Ms Lort registered as a midwife in 1986. The specific charge against her has not been revealed.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council, the health care regulator for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, last week summoned three midwives who work in Shropshire.

They were named by the NMC as Kerry Davies, Hayley Lacey and Laura Jones and will appear on October 29.

All four midwives being called to the NMC work for Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust.

Victoria Maher, workforce director at SaTH, which runs Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and Telford’s Princess Royal Hospital, said last week that bosses at the trust were monitoring the situation.
