Air ambulance called to help man suffering medical emergency in Telford

An air ambulance helicopter was called to a busy part of Telford after a man suffered a "medical emergency".

Several ambulances attended a home near the Trench Lock interchange this afternoon.

A statement from Jamie Arrowsmith of the West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.11pm to reports of a medical emergency at a private address on Trench Road, Telford.

"We sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford to the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who following treatment at the scene was taken to Princess Royal Hospital by land ambulance."
