Man taken to hospital as emergency services sent to Shrewsbury incident

A man was taken to hospital this morning after emergency services including the air ambulance were called to an address in Shrewsbury.

Several police vehicles and ambulances were dispatched to Lancaster Road at about 7.45am, to concerns about a person's safety.

A West Mercia Police spokesman said: "We were called to an address in Lancaster Road... to reports of a concern for safety.

"One male was taken to hospital."

It was the second time an air ambulance helicopter was sent to Shrewsbury this weekend – an incident was also reported at the fields at Harlescott Centre at about 4.20pm on Saturday.
